artistamps

artistamps 1, originally uploaded by sapphire252.

These are my first attempt at artistamps - they are approx 1.25 inches square. I made them for a swap, they will be be mounted onto art trading cards. A fun format to work with, the small size makes them quick and easy. And the bright colours are always my favourites - good old tria pens!

My Christmas Card for 2006

ANGEL, originally uploaded by sapphire252.

This is the Christmas Card design that I chose for 2006. In the past, I have done individual drawn cards, but this time I decided to do a more intricate design, and have it professionally printed. I then matted the prints and put them onto cardstock. I kept the original, and framed it as an addition to my holiday decorations.

I Bid you Welcome

I Bid you Welcome, originally uploaded by sapphire252.

In the spirit of the season, I am posting some pages that I have started in a copy of Bram Stoker's novel DRACULA that I am altering. It is a work in progress, and these pages that I am posting are far from complete...
I found a copy of this book at a garage sale, and spent most of the summer searching other garage sales and flea markets for pieces of broken jewelery, buttons, and other things that lent themselves to a vampire theme...and I am still searching! This project may take a while, but that is part of the fun....

They plague us all....

What Kind of Pens Do I Use?

I am often asked what kind of pens I use -
I use TRIA LETRASET PENS in the PANTONE colours - they have 3 tips on each pen, and nothing compares to their intensity!

They are available at Dick Blick online - I have a link to them on my sidebar.
Someday, I will have one in every shade.....

Cathe's book

cathe's book, originally uploaded by sapphire252.

This is a page that I did for Cathe's deco "Creative Edge", which is going to be sent around PHAP's members. I just read the article by the wonderful Violette about visual journaling in the new issue of CLOTH*PAPER*SCISSORS and as always was inspired by this lady's style....

The pocket contains little slips of paper with journal prompts on them.

If you haven't stopped by already, take the time to visit Violette's site at

you will be glad that you did!

Opposites

Opposites, originally uploaded by sapphire252.

My husband didn't think this was a good example of opposites.
"They are both Queens!", he argued.
"Wouldn't the opposite of a Queen be a King?"

And I thought that by now he understood women.
